“When you choose handmade, you don’t just own a piece of art, you protect a way of life.”
Every creation holds more than craftsmanship. It holds culture, identity, and the livelihood of a family. Let’s keep their hands busy and their stories alive.

Raw material
It begins as plain metal, fabric or thread, with nothing on it yet.
Shaped by hand
A kaarigar works each motif by hand, over hours of patient work.
A piece with a story
No two pieces come out identical. Each one carries its maker’s touch.
Care beyond craft
A share of every sale supports artisan health camps and cancer care.
Preserve a heritage.
Empower a future.
Skill training and health camps for women artisans in Delhi.
Behind every piece, a pair of hands.
Dariba to Kaarigar is a student-led initiative for the artisans behind India’s handmade jewellery. From different corners of the country, we bring together the craftsmanship, knowledge and skill of local kaarigars, and work to create opportunities for them to earn with dignity.
The women we work with have spent decades at the bench. Many of them work long hours in poorly ventilated rooms, breathing dust and fumes, with almost no access to a doctor. That is where the fundraiser comes in.
We don’t just want to celebrate the craft. We want to celebrate the hands that create it.

Why I started this
I grew up watching my Dadi build her jewellery business from the ground up. A few years later, my mother and father carried that journey forward into silver.
Being surrounded by that world, I became familiar with the beauty of the finished pieces. Over time I found myself looking past them, at the hands that brought them to life. Who are the artisans behind these pieces? What are their stories? Do they get the opportunities they deserve?
The more I looked, the more I realised how much of their story stays unseen. That was the starting point for Dariba to Kaarigar. For me this is more than a project – it is a way of giving back to the craft I grew up around, by supporting the people behind it.
Behind every piece of jewellery is a kaarigar, and behind every kaarigar is a story worth supporting.
A part of every sale goes beyond the craft.
A share of the earnings from every creation is channelled towards supporting cancer patients and their families. So each piece carries three things at once: the skill of a kaarigar, the strength of a livelihood, and the hope of making a difference in someone else’s life.
Run with Hamari Pahchan NGO – funds are raised and disbursed through Milaap.
Every story has a maker – reviving heritage, empowering communities.
